Hey Terra!

My mom came into the house today and said she thought of your mom because she saw a Monarch butterfly laying eggs on our milkweed (my mom says to say hello). She wanted me to ask you what the butterflies and moths look like in Malawi and if you have ever seen any caterpillars (she said you don't want to touch the ones with hairs/spines! - she said there is a species in Africa that has poison in its spines that is strong enough to kill an adult). I'll e-mail photos of the caterpillars and butterflies when I take them. Oh and we saw a really cool commercial on VH1 where a guy is dressed up in a HUGE mosquito costume bothering people in an office. At the end of the commercial they state that "in the US, mosquitoes are a nuisance but in Africa they carry malaria and are deadly". It's a commercial for donations for mosquito nets ..... www.nothingbutnets.net . I thought you might like to check it out. Hi Rachel,
Well to answer your mom's question about the moths and butterflies. I'm not really sure because I haven't actually seen any. Maybe because we live in the city or something but I don't really know. I'll have to look it up on google or something. When we go on a safari if I see any I'll take a picture and email it to you. That's really cool about the mosquito advertisement on t.v.
